The only judge that matters – is the one you’re riding – Natural Horsemanship Clinic 31.08. – 02.09.2012 with Robin Shen in Southern France
Scientist, horse-trainer, martial arts teacher, poet…, Robin Shen from California is probably one of the most unusual representatives of Natural Horsemanship in the United States.
Maybe he is too humble to become a big star of the scene, maybe he just does not want to be one.
His clinics in the United States are very popular and participants love his way of getting across his experience and knowledge. He can create an atmosphere in which learning becomes relaxing.
“Where there is fear, there is no learning.”
“Where there is fear, there is no learning.” is one of his guiding principles. Of course this mainly refers to working with horses but is also valid for his clinics.
This summer Robin is coming to Europe. This will be his first visit. He will be running a Natural Horsemanship clinic from August 31st to September 2nd in the south-west of France. At this clinic you will be able to learn with your own horse, or with one of our horses, or as a spectator. You will understand what Robin means when he says: “In equitation the only judge that matters is the one you’re riding”.
Natural Horsemanship is more than a method based on particular techniques. Of course these are important, but equally important is the relationship between the horse and the rider. This is why this approach is both relaxed and challenging. You are always seeking the balance between the changing sensitivities and personal condition of the participants – humans and horses. Robin Shen is a master of this art. Another basic principle which is central to his work is discipline. Discipline brings clarity and clarity is the pre-requisite for communicating with horses.
In beautiful Gascony, the birthplace of the famous musketeer “D’Artagnan” you can find out with Robin, that a combination discipline and fun is not a contradiction.
